Point Calimere, Kodikarai is a wetland ecosystem which provides feeding grounds in the winter for Flamingoes and the rare spoon-billed sandpiper. The Point Calimere Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary is known as one of the final outposts for Blackbucks. In my opinion it is an impulsive sort of landscape beginning with the native scrub jungle and ends in a beach to re-capture energy lost while in the heat or rains.
