Avian Diversity at Madras Christian College reached its highest peak in the 1980's wherein the campus attracted more than 120 species round the year. Past its prime, I've found this activity to be waning as a number of 83 species have been identified over a period of three years(2006-2009). Nevertheless it continues to be a stronghold for birds around Chennai.
